Solar Suitcase Program

The Solar Suitcase STEM Program is offering SF Bay Area teachers and after-school program educators the opportunity to participate in a two-day professional development training program to learn how to build a Solar Suitcase and implement solar and global energy poverty curriculum.

About the Program

Who: SF Bay Area teachers and after-school program educators interested in leading a We Share Solar program in their school or organization in fall 2017. The program targets high school STEM teachers or middle school girl-focused STEM after-school programs.

What: A two-day hands-on professional development training program for educators to learn how to build a Solar Suitcase and implement solar and global energy poverty curriculum. Program participants will receive Solar Suitcase student kits and tools to equip their program, including deployment of built systems to a developing country. The grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation generously supports all training costs and a classroom set of WSS equipment (valued at $8,000) for each program participant.

When: Friday, July 21 and Monday, July 24, 2017 (9am-5pm)
