Eastwood Associates and donors are invited to join us for the next Legacy of Hope, featuring Brenda Melton, Director of Animal Care and Wellbeing for Steinhart Aquarium, and Allen Fish, Director of the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory. Through programs such as the Academy’s African Penguin Breeding Program and the GGNPC’s Raptor Observatory, we will hear how both organizations are working to preserve vulnerable species both locally and around the world. Explaining the Past, Predicting the Future

Dr. Peter Roopnarine, the Academy’s Curator of Invertebrate Zoology and Geology, discusses his research studying the rise and fall of ancient ecosystems to understand how ecosystems today may respond to current human-driven crises, such as biodiversity loss and climate change.
